Qualification & Experiences
M.A./M.Ed. degree or equivalent is preferred.
English language fluency is required.
Proficiency in Hindi and/or Marathi.
Experience leading teams/groups of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Experience creating and administering student programs.
Experience with advisory and/or pastoral care programs.
Experience with residential life programs.
Experience with exceptional independent or international school programs.
Clear track record of success in launching new initiatives, including long-term planning and
project management.
Current understanding of best practices in girls’ residential high school programs.
Responsibilities
Residential Life Programming
Residential life at Avasara offers students an opportunity to connect with peers and build relationships
that last a lifetime. It also prepares students for constructive and responsible living by fostering an
environment which recognizes the needs of both the individual and the larger community. The Director
of Student Life is a key campus partner who promotes a robust residential community that increases
residential students’ success and engagement. Specific responsibilities include:
Overseeing all aspects of the residential life operations
Ensuring the health and well-being of the students
Creating a safe space for residential scholars to study, relax, and play
Recommend and implement residential life policies
Recruit, coach, supervise, and evaluate residential staff
Facilitate hostel enrollment and associated processes
Mentor the Residential Student Council

Summary
The Director of Student Life leads and facilitates various student-facing activities of the school. In
partnership with the Head of School, other school leaders, staff, and students, the Director of Student Life works to create a positive, healthy, and supportive environment where students thrive.
