Shriya is the Founder of Sitara Akka. Sitara has adopted a unique approach of using bilingual language, accessible technologies and a near-peer model to provide self-paced and assisted learning pathways to their makkalu (children). Through their Kanglish content, 1-1 relationships with Akkas and Annas and accessible technologies, Sitara has over 30,000 student subscribers on YouTube and 4000 student users on their own custom WhatsApp app, who come from all 31 districts of Karnataka. But they’re not stopping there. Sitara is now going beyond academic success towards becoming an ecosystem fostering the intellectual, emotional and social growth in high school students in Karnataka.
