Not sure if I’m the only one dealing with this, but Heroku costs have been slowly getting out of hand for my side project. It started as something simple, just a small app with a couple of dynos, but over time we added a database, a few add-ons, and now the monthly bill is noticeably higher than I expected. I saw people mentioning discounts like “up to 25% off” and got curious if that’s actually realistic. While digging around I found this Heroku but I’m not sure how legit or practical it is. Has anyone here actually tried something like this and managed to save money, or is it mostly for bigger teams?

I haven’t used Heroku in production, mostly just for testing, but I keep hearing the same story from different people — super convenient at the beginning, then costs become something you actually have to manage actively. I guess that’s the trade-off with managed platforms: you save time on infrastructure, but you pay for that convenience later. Probably worth it depending on how much you value simplicity versus control.
